On 14th August 2015, the Commission Regulation (EU) No 2015/1222 of 24 July 2015 establishing a Guideline on Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (CACM Regulation) came into force. 

On 14th December 2015, HUPX has been designated by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority in accordance with article 4 of the CACM Regulation as a Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for a period of 4 years, in order to perform the single day-ahead and intraday coupling in Hungary.

On 12th November 2019, HUPX has once again been designated by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority in accordance with article 4 of the CACM Regulation as a Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for an indefinite period, in order to continue to perform the single day-ahead and intraday coupling in Hungary.
