Joint HUPX-Argus Media Workshop was held about guarantees of origin markets
Shades of Green in Energy Trading
HUPX in cooperation with Argus Media organized a half-day workshop under the title „Shades of Green in Energy Trading” on 11 April 2022.
Mátyás Vajta, CEO of HUPX described the sustainable vision of HUPX and HUPX Group, in which a milestone is the guarantees of origin market to be launched this summer.
Ivar Munch Clausen, Chair of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) Board introduced the European landscape, along with AIB’s role and operation.
Ákos Hamburger, Head of Electricity Supervision and Licensing Department, Hungarian Energy and Utilities Regulatory Agency (MEKH) showcased Hungary’s opportunities and the Hungarian regulator’s functions.
György Istvánffy, Director of HUPX Markets described the characteristics of the new HUPX marketplace and announced the expected dates of the member tests and the first auction.
Lawrence Templeton, VP/ Business Development Manager - European gas, power and LNG, Argus Media in a deep-diving presentation analysed the price and volume development of European GO markets and the question of pricing, in addition, draw attention on biogas and biomethane support schemes.
A panel discussion moderated by Justin Colley, European Electricity Editor, Argus Media was held with the participation of Filip Strohwasser, Trader at CEZ, Lu Wang, Senior Trader at STX Group, Gábor Dénes Szabó, representing MAVIR and Gábor Szatmári, Head of Sales at HUPX. In the panel the role of PXs was discussed in light of the development of GO markets, with a special focus on price transparency and subsidies.
